Modern housing means construction with focus on low energy use, and focus on sustainability, therefor modern construction explores any kind of possible extra energy, due to the decrease in available fossil resources and political focus on alternative energy. The hunt for alternative energy is both the construction ad use of huge solar plants and windmill parks and down to the flush tank in the bathroom getting more efficient and using less water.
This idea is all about using the rain from the roofing on houses in temperate climates. In an average downpour a typical house receives around 1500 liters of water, that needs to be discharged to the gutter and the downspouts, therefor this idea is a a simple water turbine/generator, that converts this water into electricity.
